THE COMPARISON BETWEEN NUMBER HEAD TOGETHER (NHT) AND THINK PAIR SHARE (TPS) MODEL IN STUDENTS’ SPEAKING ABILITY AT GRADE XI OF SMA SWASTA DAERAH KISARAN IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2019-2020.

Abstract


ABSTRAK

 

The objectives of this research is aimed at finding the  differences between Number Head Together and Think Pair Share in students’ speaking ability at grade XI of SMA Swasta Daerah Kisaran in Academic Year of 2019/2020. This research had conducted in experiment design. There are two group, namely experimental of first group and experimental of second group. Experimental of first group had been taught by using Number Head Together Model, and experimental of second group had been taught by using Think Pair Share Model. The population of this research was taken from the grade XI of SMA Swasta Daerah Kisaran, and the sample were XI IPA-1 and XI IPA-2. The data has been collected from the pre-test and post-test value that worked  by the students in experimental of first group and experimental of second group. The data were analyzed by using t-test. The findings indicate that ttest was lower than ttable (0,92 < 2,0147). The result of this research that Ho is accepted which mention that teaching speaking by using Number Head Together model is not higher  score than using Think Pair Share model at grade XI of SMA Swasta Daerah Kisaran in Academic Year of 2019/2020.
