PENGARUH PERBEDAAN DOSIS INDUKSI HIPOPISA IKAN MAS TERHADAP PEMIJAHAN IKAN GABUS (Channa striata)

Abstract


Snakehead fish is one of the freshwater fish that has a high protein (> 40%) and albumin (> 60%) content and has high economic value. Satisfying the needs of snakehead fish in Asahan Regency still relies on catches from nature and the development of snakehead fish cultivation is still constrained by the limited supply of seeds, this is related to the spawning of snakehead fish which naturally occurs in the rainy season. Increased production at the time of spawning can be done using hyphal hormone stimulation. Carp hifophisa extract is often used because it is universal and relatively more safe and effective to stimulate fish to achieve gonad maturation and ovulation. This study aims to obtain a dose that is effective in ovulation and gonad maturity of snakehead fish. The method used was experimental method with 3 treatments and 6 replicates P1 = 1 kilogram donor: 1 kilogram recipient (1:1); P2 = 2:1 and P3 = 3:1. The results showed that dosing of hifofisa extract in P3 treatment was better and more effective than P2 and P1 treatments. The highest latency time in P3 treatment was 40 hours and 30 minutes, the highest number of eggs at the time of ovulation in P3 treatment was 1347 eggs, the highest egg hatchability was found in P3 treatment at 56.21% and the highest larval survival in P3 treatment was 49.43%. Water quality parameters obtained in each treatment such as temperature 26-280C, pH 6.5-7.8 and dissolved oxygen 4.2-5.2 mg/L still support the survival and growth of larvae/seeds of snakehead fish.
