EFFECTIVENESS OF COOPERATIVE APPROACH OF JIGSAW IN CORRELATION MATERIALS OF BISERIAL SUB MATERIALS TESTS VALIDITY TEST ON CURRENCY STATISTICS AT ENGLISH STUDY PROGRAM

Abstract


This study aims to see the effectiveness of cooperative type of jigsaw on the material correlation points biserial sub material test validity lectures statistics education to improve student academic achievement semester VI English Language Studies Program FKIP UNA Academic Year 2016/2017. The sample of this study are two classes namely class VIA (Experiment Class) and VIB class (control class). The average grade of pretest experimental grade (64.82) with the highest score 82 and the lowest score was 46, the pretest grade control grade (61.48) with the highest score of 78 with the lowest value 42. From the pretest homogenity test there was no difference of variance or both samples Homogeneous where Fhitung <Ftabel (1.86). From normality test of pretest data obtained L0 experimental class (0,1274) and L0 control class (0,117). For data postes obtained L0 experimental class (0,1587) and L0 control class (0,1082). L0 value is smaller than Ltabel (0.161) so that concluded the data is normally distributed. The average value of experimental class postes (87,9) with the highest value of 100 and the lowest value 63, while for the control class postes average value (80.6) with the highest value of 100 and the lowest value 54. From t test obtained t arithmetic = 2.11> ttable = 2.01 which means Ha accepted that the average learning outcomes of students who are taught to use cooperative type of jigsaw better than the average student data taught using learning by conventional methods.
