Abstract

 

This study aims to determine the effect of applying the techniques of investigation on the ability to write short stories contain the study population is all students of class X Yayasan Perguruan Nasional Petatal shaving in the 2015/2016 school year, amounting to 5 classes with 140 students enrolled. This study used a sample of 71 people. The method used in this research is quantitative method with an experimental approach. Obtain research data performance tests used, namely narrative expository essay writing. Based on student learning outcomes in treatment and the ability to write a narrative essay shavings class X Yayasan Perguruan Nasional Petatal in the control class before using the 2015/2016 school year investigation techniques has the highest value of 82, the value of existence is 64 and the lowest score was 52. The average value 66, 4. Experimental class highest score of 94, the value of existence is 76 and the lowest score is 64. the average value of 80.45 after the data were analyzed using the technique komparasional that the t test, proving that there is a significant influence on the ability to write the application of investigative techniques narrative essay, namely t > t table, which derive a significant level of 5% significance level = 2.00 and 1% = 2.65, because of the larger than tt is a significant level of 5%, which is 8.72 df = 69> 2.00 and at a significant level of 1%, df = 69, ie 8.72> 2.65. So there is a significant impact on the ability of investigative techniques of essay writing narrative
