INOVASI SUMBER DAYA MARITIM SEBAGAI PEMBUATAN PRODUK TERASI DI DESA SEI APUNG

ABSTRAK

 

Pada umumnya, permasalahan ekonomi yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat desa dan pelaku umkm desa sei apung kecamatan tanjung balai adalah rendahnya tingkat pengetahuan tentang pemanfaatan sumber daya maritim atau laut yang banyak menghasilkan jenis ikan maupun udang yang berpotensi di desa sei apung, Sehingga munculnya inovasi baru seperti terasi dalam bentuk serbuk. Terasi yang diolah menjadi bubuk akan ada penambahan nilai jual di pasar terhadap komoditas terasi dan memunculkan lapangan kerja dan usaha bagi nelayan.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode sosialisasi dan pelatihan terhadap proses produksi dan pengemasan produk. Adapun peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan ini yaitu terdiri dari 4 pelaku UMKM, 5 Ibu PKK, 9 Perangkat Desa, 3 Pemuda setempat, dan 4 orang masyarakat desa sei apung. Kegiatan ini terdiri dari 3 tahapan kegiatan yaitu oersiaoan, pelaksanaan , dan evaluasi kinerja. Terasi memiliki sumber protein yang berasal dari udang serta mengandung vitamin D dan B  yang mampu meningkatkan kesehatan tulang dan mencegah osteoporosis. Selain itu terasi juga mengandung nutrisi penting lainnya yang diperrlukan untuk mencegah jenis penyakit tertentu. Dalam konteks ini kendala yang dirasakan mitra pasca kegiatan adalah minimnya bahan baku udang kecil atau shirmp sehingga produk yang dihasilkan masih sangat terbatas jumlah produksinya. Selain itu, alat yang digunakan pelaku dalam proses produksi masih manual sehingga memperlambat proses produksinya, sehingga dalam proses pemasaran dan pemenuhan permintaan sulit untuk terpenuhi. Dalam hal ini perlu dilakukan upaya untuk meningkatkan kapasitas produksi dan efesiensi dalam proses pembuatan terasi. . Ada beberapa tahapan yang bisa di lakukan dalam mengatasi permasalahan ini yaitu : Pengembangan teknologi, Pelatihan pada proses produksi, serta pemasaran pada produk.

ABSTRACT

 

  In general, the economic problem faced by village communities and SMEs in Sei Apung Village, Tanjung Balai District, is the low level of knowledge about the use of maritime or marine resources which produce many types of fish and shrimp which have potential in Sei Apung Village, resulting in the emergence of new innovations such as shrimp paste. in powder form. If shrimp paste is processed into powder, there will be additional selling value in the market for shrimp paste commodities and create employment and business opportunities for fishermen. The method used in this research is the method of socialization and training regarding the production and packaging process of the product. The participants who took part in this activity consisted of 4 MSME actors, 5 PKK mothers, 9 village officials, 3 local youth, and 4 people from the Sei Apung village community. This activity consists of 3 stages of activity, namely operations, implementation, and performance evaluation. Terasi has a source of protein that comes from shrimp and contains vitamins D and B which can improve bone health and prevent osteoporosis. Apart from that, shrimp paste also contains other important nutrients that are needed to prevent certain types of diseases. In this context, the obstacle felt by partners after the activity was the lack of raw materials for small shrimp or shirmp so that the number of products produced was still very limited. Apart from that, the tools used by actors in the production process are still manual, which slows down the production process, making it difficult to fulfill the marketing process and fulfilling demand. In this case, efforts need to be made to increase production capacity and efficiency in the shrimp paste making process. . There are several stages that can be taken to overcome this problem, namely: Technology development, training in the production process, and product marketing.
